Developmental delay secondary to Down syndrome

A student in the fourth grade has mild developmental delay secondary to Down syndrome. The student has difficulty with tabletop writing tasks due to poor proximal stability. Which recommendation represents a compensatory strategy for enhancing proximal stability when writing? Have the student stand at a counter-height tabletop during writing tasks. Put a medium-sized triangular grip on the student’s writing utensil. Allow the student to write in a prone position bearing weight on the forearms. Fasten a one-pound (0.45 kg) weight on the student’s wrist during the writing task.
